Palm trees are commonly-seen plants on the sidewalks across Yunnan. In summer, they're loaded with brown fruits, of which the crude-fibered flesh is rich in juice and oil. They can be pressed into oil. Palm oil is widely used in instant noodles. But it's not simple to recreate a bowl of braised-beef flavored instant noodles.
